_What might this look like? _ 

A whole school approach to understanding and supporting mental health and emotional well-being seeks to identify needs quickly and prevent needs from emerging through providing safe, secure spaces for pupils to learn. Training for staff, and community support for parents/carers is likely to be in place.

Cognus Educational Psychology Service 

  • A range of training sessions including those focused on developing emotional resilience in children and young people, understanding child and adolescent mental health needs and Emotion Coaching. See here for more information[External Link] about dates and signing up for courses. Suicide Prevention training is offered annually but can also be commissioned as part of whole school training  

  • A call back service for parents/carers to receive a one-off consultation for support and advice. Sign up here[External Link]

  • Every Conversation Matters training to introduce ideas about communication approaches which build relationships and emotional resilience in children and young people
