SEN Children
All staff currently work with children with SEND for a minimum of 3 years - 1:1 staff work 1:1 in primary schools with children with SEND - Staffing ration vary from 1:6 to 1:8 dependant on how many SEND children we have on-site There will be limited placements for 1:1 support during the holiday club.
SEN placements are provisional and subject to a risk assessment and appropriate staffing allocation based on needs. Although our staff will have worked within SEN schools for a minimum of 3 years, not all SEN staff are trained to work with children who cannot use the toilet independently and will need 2:1 support for this, which will be discussed with parents/carers in more detail in the coming weeks.
Parents/carers will be contacted by Liz if required to provide as much information as possible. We ask parents/carers for a summary of their needs, positive interventions and ways in which we can support them during our holiday camp. A risk assessment will be taken to ensure we cover any potential risks. Although we are an inclusive club, health and safety of all will be paramount in any decision making.
