Home-Start Sutton offers volunteer befriending support along with practical and emotional guidance to families who are dealing with some of life’s most difficult challenges. Home-Start Sutton have a range of support services designed to meet the needs of local children and families.

What is this service?

Home Visiting: Support for families with a child under 5 trained and professionally supported parent volunteers offer weekly support to the whole family.

Nurturing Parent Programme: An 11 week parenting course for parents with children under 5.

Domestic Abuse Nurturing Programme: An 11 week parenting programme for parents and their children under 5 who are affected by DA.

COSP: A joint project with Sutton Childrens Centres, an 8 week parenting course which explores attached (relationship between the parent and child).

Monday Family Support Group: A weekly group in Carshalton for isolated parents and children under 5 where they can meet other parents in a safe nurturing environment.

Tea & Tots: This weekly group in central Sutton is for parents and babies under 2 and is aimed at parents with low mood/mild to moderate mental health.

Brining Mums Together: A joint project with Sutton Mental Health Foundation a weekly group for pregnant or new mums and babies under 1 to help reduce isolation a safe space to share experiences and make friendships.

The POD: A group for families with a child under 5 who are living in temporary accomodation, this weekly drop in is held on Friday mornings 10-1. The group provide refreshments a safe place for your children to play and housing advice from professionals.

Moving on Together: A joint project with Playwise offering post diagnosis support to families with a child with additional needs/disability. Weekly volunteer support, access to the playwise hub and support from staff.

Parent 2 Parent Advocacy: A project to support parents to engage with the Child Protection process. Parents with a Child Protection conference are offered peer advocate support before the conference, support within the conference and a debrief after.
