Education -
Our bespoke curriculum ensures learning is accessible, engaging, and enriched with adventure through educational visits and field trips that enhance the classroom experience. With small class sizes of no more than eight pupils, each child benefits from personalised learning as they access the national curriculum. Tasks set are challenging yet achievable, building confidence and preparing pupils for life beyond the classroom.
Our social development programme encourages collaboration, friendship, and teamwork, enabling pupils to develop interpersonal skills that empower them to build relationships, contribute to their communities, and thrive in diverse environments. Positive behaviour Support (PBS) -
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is guided by core values, focusing on collaboration with young people and their families to improve their lives and eliminate unnecessary restrictions. Behaviours of concern often stem from unmet needs. PBS employs various methods to understand these behaviours and empowers children and young people to address their needs in safer, more constructive ways. Effective support requires aligning systems to serve the needs of children and young people, and regularly reviewing this support to ensure it continues to work for them. ITAC Outcomes -
The model that we implement is our Integrated Team Around the Child (ITAC) approach.
This approach ensures that young people have access to cohesive services and all the relevant practitioners concerned with an individual meet regularly. This ensures the services delivered are integrated, prioritised, coherent and achieve their intended outcomes.
Each half term we review the child or young person’s provision through the ‘Integrated Team Around the Child’ coming together to evaluate progress, plan next steps and evidence change in emotional wellbeing, mental health, behaviour and learning.
The team is made up of professionals from across different disciplines to ensure there is a holistic approach to meeting each young person’s needs. Clinical offer -
We are Witherslack Group. The UK’s leading education provider for children and young people with special educational needs as evidenced by sector leading Ofsted judgements and our unmatched placement stability, school attendance and outcomes for young people.
Our unique integrated team-around-the-child model and inspirational environments are key to our seamless delivery of education, care and therapeutic support. This enables children and young people to thrive in and outside of the classroom and coupled with our sector leading Futures programme, optimises outcomes and future contribution to society. We don’t give up, and by this we are seen as the destination of choice by parents, carers and professionals alike.
Our clinical team offer advice and expertise through events, webinars, podcasts and articles. Therapeutic Approach -
We believe that unless a young person is able to feel emotionally secure they are less likely to fulfil their personal, social and educational potential. Our unique approach to supporting young people through our Wave Model enables them to go on to realise a future filled with aspiration and achievement.
The Clinical Team complete thorough and skilled assessments that support a shared understanding of the complex needs we see in our children and young people. This enables us to put purposeful and appropriate interventions in place and assess our effectiveness through the tracking of outcomes and impact.
From safety and containment to relationships and connections through to experiences and learning. Futures -
We are dedicated to raising the aspirations of our children and young people while also equipping them with the skills and confidence to realise outstanding outcomes.
Futures inspires and connects pupils with their next steps beyond education, utilising a network of over 350 employer partnerships, including Microsoft, Mercedes and John Lewis, providing outstanding experiences of the workplace and ongoing opportunities and lifelong support.
From job applications and strategies for building confidence to networking and understanding workplace expectations, our Futures curriculum builds on and develops academic growth while equipping young people with essential skills ready for employment. Our mission -
The work that we do now not only helps our children and young people today but positively impacts society in the future. We are committed to leading by example, caring for the communities we serve and taking action to drive sustainability forward.
We want to accelerate new behaviours that will help to deliver lasting change across our sector. As an educational provider, we are uniquely placed to educate our young people, lead by example in how we embed more sustainable practices, and drive change among our partners and suppliers.
