Seeks to help Londoners, employers, training providers to connect with one another and improve the supply of skilled construction workers from across all backgrounds to the sector.

Funded by the GLA as one of the Mayor’s Construction Academies in London, Constructing South London seeks to help Londoners find jobs and apprenticeships in the construction sector, help employers find skilled people for available jobs, and help training providers develop a talent pipeline of construction workers. We operate across the South London Partnership boroughs of Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, and Sutton, along with neighbouring borough Wandsworth.
Our aims are to:
Improve the supply of skilled construction workers available to the sector, with a focus on increasing the number of women and ethnic minorities accessing opportunities.
Scale up and extend high-quality provision and initiatives that are already working well across the capital.
Train Londoners in the skills needed to enter and progress in careers in the construction sector.
Intensify local collaboration, particularly between small and medium-sized businesses and construction skills training providers.
Support the development of training provision for the construction of housing in London, as well as the ‘green’ construction skills required for a net zero carbon future.
