What is this group?
The charity was set up in 1994 by Gill Jackson, MBE, a Visionary Speech and Language Therapist, who identified that there was a lack of long-term support for people with aphasia, once their NHS therapy had come to an end. Dyscover’s support is available for as long as it is needed, and many beneficiaries continue to attend supported communication groups for many years.
Courses and groups are available to adults with aphasia. All programmes are led by Speech and Language Therapists and supported by trained volunteers – honoured with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2019.
