What is this service?

Built in 2004, the Phoenix Centre combines a library and youth zone on the ground floor, and a gym, dance studio and conference room on the first floor. The library is fully accessible. There is a car park at the library with designated disabled parking spaces. There is level access into the building. Disabled toilets are available.

Following a library refurbishment in June 2018 the library is now open plan with more space for activities and groups. New shelving, new chairs and tables have been brought in, public PCs around the library, and a new computer dedicated to account enquiries and accessing the catalogue is available for customers.

The Library @ the Phoenix Centre provides:

  • Adult and children's fiction and non-fiction books

  • Self-service opening hours

  • I.T. facilities, including photocopier facilities, scanning, printing and free wifi

  • Study spaces (Students aged 18 or under are expected to adhere to the Student Charter and may be required to present a student ID card in order to use the study facilities in libraries.)

  • Car parking facilities

  • Family friendly activities and community groups can be found on our events page
