What is this service?

A child can project their inner world using different areas of the Play Therapy toolkit (toys).

I use a child centered approach which is non-directive based on the belief of a child’s capacity and resiliency. This facilitates a child to self direct and grow in self responsibility. I complement this approach weaving in a directive approach when I assess the child needs this.

Children can accept difficult parts of themselves through play and make sense of traumatic experiences at their own pace. Whilst alongside a reflective therapist who is non-judgmental and accepts the child as they are.

Play Therapy helps children manage their?

  • worries and anxiety

  • anger, frustration and overwhelming feelings

  • grief and loss

  • low confidence and self-esteem

  • trauma

  • social and friendship difficulties

  • big changes, e.g. moving house or school

  • family challenges like parental separation, sibling or parental illness

I offer an introductory half-hour free phone consultation to discuss if Play Therapy is the right option for your child.
