The Traveller Education Service encourages and supports improved access to educational opportunities amongst all Gypsy, Roma and Traveller families. We aim to raise awareness and understanding of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

What is this service?

  • Supporting families with applications and educational processes.

  • Supporting the induction of new pupils (to school or the borough).

  • Supporting with transition between key stages.  

  • Delivering one-to-one pupil sessions in school to support academic achievement.

  • Assisting with home/school liaison. 

  • Providing advice and support to schools.  

  • Offering professional development training on race equality, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture and lifestyle.
