Foster Care

NFA London South is an independent fostering agency providing foster care services for children and young people across South London. We recruit, assess, train and support local foster carers, and work alongside local authorities to find stable, loving homes for children who are unable to live with their birth families.

We support a range of fostering arrangements to meet different children's needs, including short-term, long-term, emergency and respite fostering, parent and child placements, sibling groups, and care for unaccompanied children. (The types of placement available can vary - our team is happy to talk through what would suit you.)

Fostering is open to more people than many realise. You don't need to own your home or be married, and people foster successfully whatever their age (over 21), background, faith, sexuality or relationship status - the key requirements are a spare room and the commitment to care for a child. We welcome enquiries from first-time carers and from experienced carers looking to transfer from another agency or local authority.

Our carers are never on their own. Every fostering family has a dedicated supervising social worker and 24/7 support, alongside regular support groups, family events and a buddying scheme with experienced carers. We also run a Mockingbird-inspired community model, which links fostering families into extended, family-style hubs for extra day-to-day support. Carers can access more than 250 training courses, plus specialist therapeutic and education support through our national team, helping them care confidently for children with a wide range of needs.
