What is this service?

MAPS Mentoring provides support to vulnerable children and young people who come from a variety of difficult and complex backgrounds, with challenging life circumstances, including poor mental health, low self-esteem, self-harming, violence and exploitation, and social disadvantage.

We carefully match our Mentees (children and young people) with hand-picked, checked and trained volunteer Mentors who meet with their young person (Mentee) once a week for a year.

Mentoring can help young people connect with their community, improve their confidence and raise their aspirations, enabling them to achieve their full potential. It's a safe space for young people to explore issues they face. They receive support and guidance, learn new skills, try new activities and have a lot of fun!

What we offer?

  • One-to-one weekly mentoring support for a year
  • Monthly MAPS socials for mentoring pairs
