Stanley Park is an open rectangle of land bordered by young and mature trees particularly to the north. The 1st edition OS map of 1867 shows the site as open fields (common field) to the south of Carshalton Park.

Benhill Recreation Ground is an open grassland to the west along Benhill Road. It provides a large play area for children to enjoy, and picnic tables for lunch. There are inclusive picnic tables available for people with limited mobility.

Carshalton Park is one of Sutton's parks that is rich in historical significance. When you walk through the park you will see The Grotto which dates back to 1724 and the Hog Pit pond which dates back to the mediaeval era!
