What is this service?

We want more children with special needs to learn to skate and play ice hockey from an early age (from 5yrs) because we know that early intervention results in better outcomes in later life. Our socially and ethnically diverse club brings children and young people with learning disabilities and additional needs together to make friends, reduce social isolation, and develop social, communication and other skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Our parent-led management committee is fully engaged with our diverse community of players, parents and volunteer coaches and act on their feedback including from our 'customer' surveys which inform the design, development and delivery of our project and club activities. We also build strong relationships in and across communities through parents enjoying the opportunity to share their experiences of raising a child with disabilities, strengthen resilience, and reduce their social isolation. Its a delight to see it happening.

What we offer?

  • I hour training sessions on mostly alternate Saturday afternoons between September and May
