As an organisation with corporate parent responsibilities, we are dedicated to supporting care leavers in their journey to independence and employment. The Aspiring to Thrive program, developed by the Workforce Development team, is designed to provide care leavers with the resources, training, and opportunities they need to enhance their employability and career prospects.

Goals for the Aspiring to Thrive Programme

  • Quarterly Newsletter: Provide regular updates, news, and resources to keep care leavers informed.

  • Job Opportunities Signposting: Guide care leavers to relevant job openings and employment resources.

  • Free Training Opportunities: Offer access to skill-building courses.

  • Aspiring Care Leavers Programme: Cover essential topics such as breaking down barriers, building a personal brand, presentation skills, AI tips, and personal career journeys from LBS leaders, managers, and aspiring alumni.

  • Matrix CV Training: Provide care leavers with tools and techniques for crafting an impactful CV.

  • Recruitment Team Support: Offer guidance on LinkedIn profile optimisation and creating strong job applications.

  • Mock Interviews: Conduct practice interviews to help care leavers build confidence and interview skills.

Career Aspirations Discussions: Engage care leavers in conversations about their career goals and connect them to council or partner services that can support their transition to employment, including finance or leisure.
