SIASS Youth Chat Facebook Group

If you are 16-25 years old, live in Sutton, and have a Special Education Need or Disability, join the SIASS Facebook Group. You'll get to ask questions of SIASS staff, gain advice and support, and learn where to go for the information you need as a young person with SEND. Visit the SIAA Youth Chat service page.

Supermarket's Quiet Hour

Asda

When: Every Monday to Thursday, 2-3pm

Where: ASDA Stores

During this hour they reduce noise levels in store. This is done by switching off the radio and only making tannoy announcements in emergencies.

Leisure Time

The Council's leisure centres, operated by Everyone Active, provide a range of disability specific as well as inclusive activities which can be found on their website. All gyms have Inclusive Fitness Initiative equipment available including Total Access equipment which is accessible to people with a physical disability that cannot transfer from their wheelchair.

Accessible toilets and shower rooms require a Radar Key which can be purchased for a small charge. Learn more about Radar Keys from Disability Rights UK [External Link].

Libraries

There are 8 libraries in Sutton dotted around the borough. Full accessibility arrangements for each library is listed under each library site and staff will be pleased to advise you before your visit. All of our libraries are accessible by wheelchair users. Sutton Central Library and Cheam Library have induction loops. All our libraries stock a selection of large print books and talking books. Guide dogs are also welcome in all libraries.

Local parks

Sutton has many lovely parks and green spaces that are well-maintained; support good public health, local culture, social activities and biodiversity. Information on facilities and opening times [External Link] can be found on our Sutton Council website.

Club House

Run by Orchard Hill College, Club House is a monthly social club night at Sutton United Football Club. It is for young people aged 16 or older and is inclusive and accessible to all. To find out more and to book tickets for the next event, visit Orchard Hill's Club House page [External Link].

Honeywood Museum SEND Quiet Days

Honeywood Museum in Carshalton run quiet days which are suitable for those with SEND. These run outside of normal opening hours and are not open to the general public without booking.
