Full accessibility arrangements for each library is listed under each library site and staff will be pleased to advise you before your visit. All of our libraries are accessible by wheelchair users. Sutton Central Library and Cheam Library have induction loops. All our libraries stock a selection of large print books and talking books. Guide dogs are also welcome in all libraries.
Libraries in Sutton are committed to extending and improving access to their services and support the Hidden Disability sunflower scheme.
Sutton library has a series of entertaining and accessible bitesize books written by the very best contemporary authors and aimed at emerging readers. There is also a dyslexia collection called "Read OK" of children's and young adults books identifiable by their bright orange spine stickers. Each library has a labelled shelf, look for the "Read OK" and "Quick Reads" labels or ask the library staff
Sutton library has a collection of 40 multi-sensory books for adults with a learning disability. Bag books can be told in groups or individually and are told through voice and emotion rather than words and pictures. The library also has a collection books Beyond Words, Picture stories are accessible to everyone, whether or not you can read words.
These books are kept at Sutton Library but can be sent for collection at any library location. Please speak to staff at Sutton Library or email sutton.library@sutton.gov.uk to access these books.
Sutton library offers a free session for adults with learning disabilities on Wednesdays at 2pm. Using props, staff and volunteers encourage movement and social interaction.

All Aboard Club runs inclusive train-play sessions for autistic, ADHD and SEND children, where they can build their confidence, develop their social skills and just be themselves.

At Challengers, we break down the barriers to play and make it possible for every disabled child or young people to play and have fun, without limits. We support children and young people aged 2 – 18 at our range of services, located across the South East of England.
