Early Years with SEND (0 - 5)

The early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old.

There is support available in Sutton for children under 5 with SEND.

Cognus’ Early Years team

The team works closely with setting in the Early Years sector. These include pre-schools, nurseries, childminders and early years provision in schools. The Federation of Thomas Wall Nursery & Robin Hood Infants School - Dragonflies

This is a very large Early Years unit. It includes an assessment unit for nursery-aged children with complex communication difficulties. Dragonflies class is a provision for those with social communication difficulties, including ASD. There is a 1 adult to 2 child ratio. Staff are experienced in working with children with communication needs. They use clear, simple language and are supported by visual timetables and cues. Free childcare for 2 to 4 year olds
