HolidayActivities - HAF Unique Vouchers
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme provides free holiday activities and healthy meals for eligible children and young people during the school holidays (Spring, Summer, Winter).
Are you eligible for HAF?
HAF eligibility is mainly based on whether your child meets the criteria for Targeted Free School Meals (FSM).
From September 2026, Free School Meals will be expanded to all children in households receiving Universal Credit. However, HAF eligibility will remain targeted at the existing FSM threshold. This means that children who are eligible for Targeted FSM remain eligible for HAF, while eligibility for Expanded FSM does not, by itself, provide eligibility for HAF.

How and when will I receive my HAF voucher?
Sutton Council no longer issues unique HAF codes through council eligibility letters.
Schools assign a voucher to eligible children (benefits-related free school meals/Targeted FSM). Please keep an eye out for an email or text message from hello@holidayactivities.com with a link to your child’s unique HAF vouchers. Once received, you can start booking your child onto activities by our HAF providers on the platform. You can also manage your child’s bookings on this platform.
More information can be found in this step-by-step parent guide on the HolidayActivites website [External Link] on how to book activities for children.
HAF vouchers are normally sent at least one month before the holiday programme starts. This will be ahead of the Spring (Easter), Summer, and Winter (Christmas) holidays.
Activities and providers will be added to the booking platform and the Sutton Information Hub HAF provider pages as they become available.
I think I am eligible but have not received my voucher?
Your eligibility will require verification. If you believe your child is eligible for HAF but you have not received a voucher:
1. Check your junk or spam folder
If your voucher was sent by email, it may have been filtered into your junk or spam folder.
2. Contact your child's school
Ask your child's school to confirm that your child's FSM eligibility has been checked and recorded correctly. This will ensure your HAF vouchers are sent to you.
If you have changed your address, you must inform your school and relevant council teams of this change. To update your details including a change of address, please contact the free school meals email address fsm@cognus.org.uk
3. Contact the Sutton HAF team if the school is closed
If your child's school is closed during the school holidays or you need further support, please contact the Sutton HAF team.
You may be asked to provide information so that an eligibility check can be completed.
For information about the eligibility check, please visit our Free School Meals and HAF eligibility

Frequently Asked Questions
I receive Free School Meals. Will I automatically receive a HAF voucher?
Not necessarily.
From September 2026, Free School Meals will include Targeted FSM and Expanded FSM. HAF eligibility remains based on the Targeted FSM criteria.
If your child meets the Targeted FSM criteria, they are eligible for HAF through the main eligibility route.
All FSM families would have received communication from the councils FSM team on whether they are on Expanded FSM or Targeted FSM. Please contact fsm@cognus.org.uk if you require further clarification on your FSM status.
I receive Universal Credit. Why have I not received a HAF voucher?
Receiving Universal Credit does not automatically mean that your child is eligible for HAF.
From September 2026, your child may be eligible for Free School Meals under the Expanded FSM criteria.
HAF eligibility remains based on the existing FSM threshold, so your child's eligibility must be confirmed under the Targeted FSM criteria.
Where is my HAF voucher?
Check the email address or mobile phone number registered with your child's school and check your junk or spam folder.
If you still cannot find your voucher, contact your child's school.

Neighbouring boroughs
All London boroughs operate a HAF Programme.
If you are a resident of a neighbouring borough but your child attends a Sutton school, you are welcome to attend Sutton’s HAF programme. You may also be able to attend a HAF programme in the borough you reside in.
If your eligible child resides in Sutton but attends a school out of borough or is a cross border child, they are still welcome to attend a HAF club closer to home. Please contact the HAF team for vouchers. We will require evidence of your current vouchers to swap them.
