One of the best ways to protect your child is to make sure they have all their vaccinations at the time they are recommended.
Your child’s red book will show you when each vaccination is due and you can read about why and when to vaccinate your child against various childhood diseases on the Healthier Together for Sutton website.
Your GP’s surgery will contact you when your child’s next vaccination is due or you can contact your GP surgery for further information or to book.
Flu Vaccination for Children
The children's flu vaccine helps protect against flu. It's offered to children aged 2 to 3 years, school-aged children (reception to year 11) and children with certain long-term health conditions. The children's flu vaccine is usually given as a quick and painless nasal spray in each nostril.
Children who are aged 2 or 3 years can get the flu vaccine at their GP surgery from 1st September, or a pharmacy from 1st October using the link below:

Most school-aged children (reception to year 11) get their flu vaccine at school. You should get an invitation from your child's school or the School Age Immunisation Service to get their vaccine, usually during the autumn term.
Children with certain long-term health conditions that put them at higher risk from flu can get a flu vaccine from their school (primary) or GP surgery. For further information on the children’s flu vaccination, see the NHS website here - Children's flu vaccine.
