Our specialist services focus on helping you to make the best use of your remaining vision and our friendly team are at the end of a phone if you or someone you know is affected by sight loss. Please download our catalogues to view our selection of aids, stationery, bold-lined exercise books and leisure items.
Support Groups - We host a variety of different monthly support groups to help those living with partial sight. The groups consists of people who all have different levels of visual impairment and many different eye conditions. Most don’t know each other until they join the group, but are quick to form friendships. The groups meet monthly and often involve speakers and activities. If you would like to attend, please call us for details. If you would like to set up a support group near you, please call us and we will help you. The Support Group is free to Friends of The Partially Sighted Society and £3.00 per person to anyone else (carers free). We offer the first session free to see if it is the group for you.
Living with Sight Loss - Living with Sight Loss We provide expert individual support, advice and information to anyone affected by sight loss, their carers, family or friends. If you would like to talk to someone we would very much welcome your call.

Visual impairment awareness training - Are you a carer/family member or professional living/working with someone with a visually impairment? If so, this one-day course will give you more of an understanding of what it is like to live with sight loss and how to guide and support someone with a visual impairment. This is a full day course which will incorporate information on the main causes of visual impairment. It includes practical tasks carried out whilst wearing simulator spectacles. In addition, sighted guide training is facilitated by our low vision therapist.
