What is this service?
Digital Champions is a programme aimed to support older people to get online.
Our programme includes raising awareness of the benefits you can enjoy from getting online. We have a what's on guide which highlights the benefits and where you can go for digital support in Sutton.
Our skills sessions can be delivered on a 121 basis supporting clients from home or in the community. The are also offered as group sessions offering social and learning opportunities together.
Device loan. If you do not have a device but would like to take part in skills sessions and experience what it is like to be online, we can offer a loan of tablets, laptops, smart phones and Alexa speakers. You will receive support from the team throughout the loan period and will following the skills sessions content that has been created.
Digital drop ins. If you have a quick question about an application on your phone or tablet, our team can help you and give you guides to help you continue to learn in your own time.
Part of the programme also offers a volunteering opportunity as one of our digital champions. Digital champion volunteers support older people to understand the benefits of being online along with teaching skills that will help someone to use a device such as connecting to wifi and sending/receiving emails.
