We are committed to improving Sutton’s SEND Local Offer based on feedback from children and young people, parents, carers and professionals.
This page shows how we have listened and what actions we have taken in response.
August 2026
In August 2026, parents and carers attending the London Marathon Foundation Summer Athletics Day shared their views on what helps children and young people stay healthy and active, and what challenges they face in accessing local opportunities. Families highlighted the importance of affordable, inclusive activities, clear information about what is available locally, and opportunities that are accessible to children and young people with SEND.

You said: Cost can make it difficult for families to access activities.
You said: More activities are needed throughout the year, not just during school holidays.
You said: Transport and accessibility can make it difficult to attend activities.
You said: Families would like more opportunities to be active together.
This feedback helps us understand what matters most to families and will be considered alongside other engagement activities as part of the ongoing development of information, support and opportunities available through the SEND Local Offer.

You said: Parent carers shared their experiences and priorities through Sutton Parent Carers Moving On listening events, highlighting challenges around transition, adult services, and access to information.

Improved signposting to services and support
Developed resources for families waiting for services
Expanded information on preparing for adulthood
Improved layout and readability
Added more visuals and clearer structure
Reviewed accessibility standards
Provided alternatives to PDFs where possible
We continue to work with partners and families to:
Improve accessibility and usability of the website
Increase awareness of local services
Expand information for under 5s and transition stages
Ensure more local organisations are included
Strengthen how we gather and respond to feedback
