Relationships for Care Leavers
Relationships are an important part of our day-to-day lives. Our community also plays a big part in helping us to feel connected to other people. They can be your friends, your family, your past carers, professionals who are currently working with you or used to work with you. A strong relationship network can help us to stop feeling lonely, and have a sense of belonging. It helps to have a network of people we can rely on when times are good or not so good. We understand how important these relationships are and will support you to stay in touch where possible. Your Personal Adviser (PA) will help you with this and will detail your plans/wishes in your pathway plan. Sometimes, conflicts can arise within relationships that are hard to resolve. If this happens to you, your PA will be able to support you through this. Always know that we are there for you and that you are not alone whether you have a strong social and family network or not.
