Parental Support and Responsibilities

5.1. The Council thinks it is reasonable for your parents/carers to prioritise your transport to full-time education over other commitments. If you cannot travel to college on your own, your parents or carers will accompany you where it is reasonable to expect them to do so.
5.2. If your parents or carers cannot accompany you to college themselves, they should make other arrangements such as:
-
asking other family members or friends to help
-
making arrangements with other parents at the college
-
asking their employer for flexible working arrangements.
5.3. Other relevant factors, for example, the health of your parents/carers and the potential impact of providing transport or accompanying you to school or college will be taken into consideration.
