Completing the CFCS referral form [External Link] is the quickest and easiest way to access support from Children’s Services.

Children and Young People Disability Service

The Children and Young People Disability Service supports children from 0 to 18 who are registered as having a disability. They are the main provider of social care services. To find out more, visit the LBS website [External Link].

Children and Young People’s Disability Register and iCount Card

The Children and Young People’s Disability Register is a voluntary register of children and young people from birth to 18 years old. Those on the register live in Sutton and have a disability or special educational need. Once you have registered, you will receive a Sutton iCount Card. Paediatric Occupational Therapists (OT)

Paediatric Occupational Therapists are part of Children’s Social Care. They can visit young people with a disability to provide an assessment of their needs at home. They can also support social housing applications where wheelchair/accessible housing is required. For more information, visit the OT page on the LBS Website [External Link].

Short breaks for children who need additional support

A short break provides opportunities for young people with disabilities, who are eligible. It allows young people to take part in positive activities, working towards agreed outcomes. It also provides respite for their families/carers from their daily caring role.

Short breaks can take place in the home or in the community. They are personal to the child and young person's individual needs. They can include day, evening, overnight, weekend or holiday activities.

Children's First Contact Service

Children's First Contact Service is the first contact point for all enquiries. This includes for:

  • Any support required from Occupational Therapy.

  • Short breaks.

  • iCount.

  • Transitions.

  • Any query relating to Children’s Social Care.

What to do if you are worried or concerned about a child?

If you are worried that a child or young person is in immediate danger, call 999.

If you are worried that a child is being abused or neglected, call us on 020 8770 6001 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

You can contact us out of hours or at the weekend on 020 8770 5000.
